Painting a year in vibrant strokes

Beyond numbers and charts, Arts House Limited wanted their FY21/22 Annual Report to tell narrate the year’s journey. Spot illustrations emerged as the answer, tasked with telling the story of the year through relatable visual vignettes.

With spot illustrations as a key element, I had to tell the story of the year's successes and challenges.

Down the rabbit hole with the brief

Arts House Limited has a rather sophisticated and elegant look, yet infused with a touch of playfulness. I wanted to bring that lightheartedness out through the illustrations. It was important for the visual narratives to balance between elegance and playful energy. Every spot illustration had to be straightforward, resonating with the brand's spirit, events and festivals.

The team also requested for the illustrations to celebrate diversity,
and to explore more “everyday” outfits.

From concepts to colour

Once we were clear on the objectives, I started working on the concept sketches.
I reimagined Arts House Limited's (AHL) visual landscape with illustrations that showcased a range of ethnicities, reflecting the vibrant community they embrace. Each sketch translated AHL events and festivals into engaging visual narratives that resonated with every  key target groups.

Voilà! 16 captivating spot illustrations were birthed, ready to tell their stories.

Energetic and playful: Embracing the boldness of saturated hues, colours that exudes confidence and style.

Unique visual gems, each one a bridge connecting the brand to its audience!
