at a Glance
Esplanade wanted to weave a captivating, infographic-infused narrative for their FY 2021/2022 annual report. The brief was to create illustrations that not just crunch numbers but tell a captivating story of the year gone by with the essence of the venue.
Crafting the narrative
The themes and prompts ignited my imagination, allowing me to
craft a narrative that mirrored the cultures and voices that
celebrated Esplanade’s vibrant diversity.

From the start, I had this idea of showing different scenes and numbers in different parts of a room. After the first round of feedback, Esplanade wondered if it was possible to include the essence of the venue. I developed the concept further, turning the infrastructure into the interiors of the Esplanade mall. I continued working on polishing the characters and the details of each scene.
Once the sketches were finalised, Esplanade’s vibrant colour palette brought the scene to life.
