Celebrating 40 Years of Qatar-Singapore Relations

Commissioned by the Embassy of the State of Qatar, we were given the opportunity to illustrate the celebration of a shared journey.

To honour the enduring diplomatic relations between Qatar and Singapore, what cultural exchanges or joint initiatives could I depict, to showcase the spirit of progress and shared ambition that binds our nations?

Building a Strong Base

The open brief offered both freedom and a daunting task. The Qatari team, mindful of this, provided a thoughtful roadmap of milestones. These clear benchmarks served as anchors, allowing me to delve into specific sections and seamlessly piece together the larger vision.

Crafting the narrative

I wanted to represent the unity and collaboration between the two countries. To achieve that, I merged both countries’ map into a single vibrant island.

Respecting the clients’ request, Qatar's monumental landmarks, like the National Museum and the Eye of Qatar, etc. were meticulously placed within the island, each representing a beacon marking its remarkable progress.

Singapore's recognisable landmarks, including the Merlion and the Marina Bay Sands, are also prominently featured, representing the country's modernity and its position as a global hub.

The final look

Bold, vibrant colours were used to reflect the dynamism and energy.

Big thanks to the team for their outstanding work on the mural celebrating the 40-year milestone of Qatar and Singapore's exceptional bilateral relations.

The creativity and enthusiasm the team poured into this project truly shine, making it a joy to collaborate with such passionate individuals. Here's to more successful partnerships and inspiring creations!
