MAS: Talent Pavilion 2022

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), aimed to make a splash at their event by showcasing over 40 cutting-edge FinTech initiatives. But this wasn't just about tech geeks – they wanted to captivate a diverse audience spanning from teenagers to seasoned professionals (ages 16 to 56!).

Each initiative packed a punch, brimming with information about the opportunities one could take. MAS did not want the experience to be be just about passively consuming information, they wanted to gather this valuable data.

How did we answer the brief?

The personalised journey

Instead of just answering questions, we created a whole interactive experience for the attendees. It's like a game where attendees can make their own avatar, see it come to life on a big projection wall, and even get personalised emails based on their choices. This way, people have fun while MAS learns and gathers what their attendees are interested in.

1. Avatar System

To facilitate with the user experience and interaction design, I ensured each style is created as a library of modular components.

Every asset is meticulously designed to seamlessly harmonise with others, creating a tapestry of unique and endless combinations.

2. World building

I created a world where the attendees could explore and see their avatars come alive. The 13m-long illustration featured 18 national institutions where every corner holds a surprise.

Colours were used strategically to distinguish the different career paths and to ensure a smooth user journey. Subtle animations then brought the illustrations to life and made the interactivity an exciting one

It was challenging to make sure the illustration had enough details as it would projected on such a large wall - yet at the same time ensuring it doesn’t get too complex and overwhelming.

I opted for a soft, pastel palette so it would not appear too jarring on the eyes - with the intention of prioritising users’ ease of viewing!
